According to Sparknotes, "Aeneas’s journey to the underworld in Book VI is another of the Aeneid’s most famous passages. In fact, this passage helped raise Virgil to the status of a Christian prophet in the Middle Ages." Why do you think that this happened? You must make "direct" references to Book VI to explain your reasoning.

I think it’s like history repeating itself. Basically Virgil said, when you die you will be judged for how you lived on earth. Other poets like Dante later used “it as the foundation for his journey through hell in the Inferno.” I think Virgil got this title because it “ represents an advanced version of classical theology, which was not codified in the way that modern religions are.”

This book is saying that you will be judged based on how well you performed when you were alive. This is prety much like a test, and based on how well you perform, you will be placed somewhere in the underworld. Dante, an italian poet,"used it as a foundation for his journey through the hell of the inferno". Virgil's version "represents an advancement of classical theology, which was not codified the way modern religions are". Virgil uses the concept of life and death as a metaphor of living in the underworld based on your life.

There are multiple parts to the question and you only answered one of them, and it makes no sense. You really need to put more effort into your responses. All you needed to do was go on to sparknotes and get some qoutes from the summary.

I think this happened because, "The Italian poet Dante used it as the foundation for his journey through hell in the Inferno, even though Virgil’s version of the afterlife was obviously not a Christian one." Therefore, even after Virgil, his work was used to further influence Christian work.

Book IV is about your lifetime and how it is connected to the underworld. If you are good in your lifetime, you will proceed to the good parts of the underworld. If you are bad, you will proceed to the bad parts of the underworld, such as the Groves of Avernus. An Italian poet named Dante, "used it as a foundation for his journey through the hell of inferno." The great epic, created by Virgil, "represents an advancement of classical theology, which was not codified the way modern religions are."

It does not seem that you put in any effort in this. You did not even answer the question. All you have to do is go to sparknotes and pick up some quotes.

Great post! It seems as if you put a lot of effort into it. I also agree with all the quotes you use. However, the period goes inside the quote, not outside. Overall, good job.

This book from the Aneid is about the way you acted in your life and how it affected your status in the underworld. This must have helped a lot to Virgil's status because he showed a lot of intresting people who helped Rome there therefore giving Rome an extra boost for being great. He recapped most of Rome's history while including important facts for the Aneid. On sparknotes Dante an italian poet "used it as a foundation for his journey through the hell of the infero." This made Virgil a prophet because "Virgil's description of the afterlife was obviously not a christian one." He was so great tthat dante used him as an inspiration so that had to help him with his status as a Christian Prophet.

I think that it means that you will be jundged from how you acted on earth. '' It as the fountain of his journey through hell in the inferno''.
