AMSA now has a student government.
Each grade in the Upper School elected representatives to speak for the student body.
What role do you think these representatives have? What specific issue(s) should they address on your behalf? Do you think that the Lower School grades should elect representatives too? Why?

I think they have a huge role in our society. I say this for a reason it is that they show what our school is all about. They can change rules if they think something is to harsh. I think they should suggest something about the workload, we have to much homework Also I think we don't have enough dress down days and when we have them they cost to much $. I strongly belive we should have lower school representitaves because there are many issues that lower schoolers have that upper schoolers don't have.

I think that the student government has a big role in AMSA. They can sudjest new rules or change other ones. I think that the lower school should also get to vote on representatives.

Great post! I like how you put lots of detail on it and how you explained the things the student government can do.

The representitves have a major role in AMSA. They represent our school and can fix any problems that we address. I think they should suggest something about how much homework we are getting. We are getting way too much homework. With all of our afterschool activities and homework, we get no free time. Also, I think that they should not be so harsh on the uniform. I understand that we have to have a uniform, but does it matter if we have a white swoosh on our black shoes? Finally, I think the lower schoolers should have a vote. The representitves represent AMSA, and the lower school is a huge part of AMSA, so we should be able to vote. Otherwise, it is not fair because only the upper schoolers get to vote, and we don't get any say.

The representatives are very important for AMSA and they play a huge role. The representatives are able to address issues that the rest of the students bring to attention. I agree with everyone who says they should address the amount of homework we get each night and not being so harsh on the dress code, as those are the same issues I have. Sometimes, I get so much homework that I can barely finish it by 9 or 10 (after my afterschool activities). I had to buy two pairs of new shoes, just because I had shoes that didnt follow the dress code. I think we should have Lower School representatives so the 6th and 7th graders can address problems that are just in the lower school, also so the 6th and 7th graders can represent the Lower School.

I totally agree with that they should address the homework issue and the uniform/dress code. I really dont think the school should care if there is a logo on a pair of shoes causing you to buy even more shoes, and spending more money. Good post!

I like your post! I agree, so far the dress down days have cost to much money. I also agree with with what you said about having lower school representatives.

The representatives talk about the problems that each grade has. I think the shoe dress code should go away. The shoe dress code is bad because not many companies will leave their off. I think the lower school should have representatives because there are problems that the lower school has that the upper school does not.

The role of each rep makes decisions that are requested by
other students. We should be able to wear sweatshirts on A or B day. The lower
school should have reps too because we are in different building with different
issues.
