The two men are fighting because they made an agreement that if they fought, the winner would take Helen and all her possesions. Three things diff. are: 1) In the book, Aphrodite helps Paris in one way by ripping his helmet free from Menelaus's grasp. In the part we saw, she doesn't assit at all. 2) Aphrodite saves Paris from Menelaus by transporting him to the palace, where he meets Helen. In the part we saw, that didn't happen. 3) Menelaus didn't break his sword from Paris's hard helmet in the part we saw. Paris is kind of foolish, because he is just a puny pretty boy, not a fighter, and the only reason he is doing this is to get Helen, not to save lives from dying in the war instead.

1.paris and menaleaus are fighting because paris stole helen from menaleaus with the help of aphrodite. 2.that paris gets hit in the leg that paris punched menaelaus and paris went running back to his brother. 3. yes i think paris is a coward because it was suppose to be a battle between menalaes and paris and it was suppose to be a battle to the death. but paaris is also smart because he grabbed his brothers leg and then his brother stabbed menaleas.

1) The two men are fighting over who gets to keep Helen. 2) Three different things:
3) Paris is both. He is not a coward because he said he wanted to fight the toughest Greek. He is a coward because he ran away from the fight.

1. Why are these two men fighting? 2. Name three things that is different between the book and the film? 3. Is Paris a coward? Explai 1) These two men are fighting because they made a pact or an agreement to fight and whoever won took Helen and all of her possesions. 2) Three things that are different between the book and the film are: - In the book, Aphrodite saved Paris, bu in the film, Aphrodite wasn't even a part of it. - Iris didn't tell Helen about the fight between Paris and Menelaus. - Menelaus didn't throw his and Paris' sheilds in the book but he did in the movie. 3) Paris is a coward because he ran away from the fight, and if you die in a fight then you have great honor and go to the good part of the underworld but he ran away like a coward.

1) The men are fighting because they want to have a battle and winner take it all. Helen and all her possessions. 2) The differences are in the book Menelaus doesn't get stabbed. And also Paris get's saved Aphrodite not Hector. And the 3rd thing is that helen didn't get warned by Iris 3) Yes Paris is a coward cause in Greece you should want to die in battle but Paris ran away because Menelaus was to strong for him.

I agree with you except for number three. Paris isn't both a coward and not a coward, he is a coward. Even though he wanted to fight the toughest Greek he backed out of it and ran away. Also, Paris broke the pact that the Greeks and Trojans agreed on.

I agree with on number one and two but you didn't answer number three, the question was is Paris a coward and you just said that he was a foolish, puny pretty boy who's not a fighter.

-The men are fighting for Helen and her possesoins - 1: in the book Iris told Helen about the fight 2: The Greeks/Troygens did not drop their weapons 3: Helen was watching the battle -Paris is not a coward, he is very foolish, and over confodent . He did say he wanted to fight the toughest greek after all, wich was very foolish. During the fight he had to run away.

Paris and Menelaus are fighting because the Greeks and the Trojans made an agreement that Paris would go out and fight Menelaus to the death, and the winner would then get Helen and all her possesions. Boys ttreating girls like disposable objects.
Three different things are:
1) In the book Paris and Menelaus first threw spears at eachother, then Menelaus pulled out his sword.
2) In the movie Hector helped Paris instead of Aphrodite helping Paris.
3)Paris didn't get whisked off to his palace rooms by Aphrodite, he crawled to Hector.
4) Menelaus didn't break his sword on Paris's helmet.
5) In the book Menelaus was about to grab Paris's helmet, when Aphrodite took him away.
Paris is sort of a coward because he slunk back into the Trojan forces when he saw that he was going to be fighting Menelaus, but he eventually came out after getting a pep talk from Hector.

James, you were supposed to post 3 things different, and I only see one. That's my advice to you. Before Sunday, add two extra differences.

I agree with you except for the last question. I think Paris is a bit of a coward because he volunteered to fight the Greeks best man, but, when he saw it was Menelaus he slunk back into the Trojan line, which made Hector really mad because that was a cowardly move. So he really is a borderline between coward and not a coward. But that's just my thoughts.
