Aeneus loved Dido and it wasn't his choice to leave her. Hecaused her pain and she she left and her husband comforted her.

(a) He probably met Dido because of Fates. Origanally the Fates did not want her to die so the fates probably wanted to remind him of what he did and the price he has to pay. Virgil included her because she was an importanat character.

(b) He most likely met them because the faes probably wanted to remind of his past. Virgil included these characters because he admred Homer and likes to intertwine his books with Homer's.

(c) He probably met Sisphus because he was one of the punished ones in the underworld. Virgl probably included him beacause this is mythology (the tale of Sisypus I mean) and Mythology is Religion; in other words, he is expressing his culture.

Aeneas went to the underworld and met several different people. One person the he met was Dido. Virgil incorporated Dido because Aeneas was the cause of her death. She was very mad at Aeneas, though Aeneas told her why he left. Another person that Aeneas encountered in the underworld was his Trojan soldiers. Virgil included them because they were his friends and he fought with them, so they are very vital. Virgil incorporates the Trojans many times (in Dido's temple, etc.) because they mean a lot to Aeneas. One other person Aeneas met was Augustus, the Roman Emperor. This was one of the most important people that Aeneas met. Virgil mad Aeneas meet Augustus because that shows that Rome would be founded.
