Carthage was in north Africa where modern day Libya is now located, Carthage was found in 814 BCE. Archeologists claim Carthage was discovered in the Eight Century which is evidence that Queen Dido might not have founded it. Its role in the Punic Wars is Hannibal lead elephants from the outside. Then when the war was over in seventeen days, Carthage burned down. Colonia Julia Carthago was a city that is located in what is now Algeria, Libya, Morroco and Tunisia. The idea of the city was tought of by Julius Caesar. Which made it one of the biggest cities, coming right behind Rome. The most interesting fact that I learned was that Carthage was not founded by Dido but someone else. Life in Carthage was good because they had protection provided to them by the tall surronding walls. The people also had food because of the fertile land. Also they could always be outside because of the stable temprature. This gave people the perfect place to live a protected, fertile and stable enviorment.

1. Carthage is founded by the Phonecians and is in Nothern Africa. Founded in 814 BCE 2. They say this because archaeoligists belive that it was founded in the middle of the 8th century. 3. Hannibal rode his elephants from outside, then the war finished fast. Despite the Carthagian succes Rome finished them off and burned their city. 4. Colonia Julia Carthago is a colony that Julius Ceaser thought of making before he died. His big city got later made and is called Julia Carthago. 5. The most intersting fact is that Dido might have not found Carthage. 6. Life in Carthage was a paradise. I say this because they had food and huge walls to protect them. Also their tempratures was always great.

1)Carthage was founded on the north African coast which is now known as modern day Lebenon. It was founded by Dido in 814 BC. 2) Archeologists claim Carthage was discovered in the Eigth century which shows that Queen Dido might no have founded it. 3) Its role in the Punic Wars was that Hannibal led the elephants outside. 4) Colonia Julia Carthago was a city that is now located in Libya, Morroco, Algeria, and Tunisia. 5) I would say that it might have been that Dido that not found Carthage and I would say this is my favorite because now me might never know if Dido really did found Carthage or not. 6) Life in Carthage wasn't bad and it was actually pretty good. They had warm temperature all year round. They did not have to worry about food because their land was fertile so they could grow their own food. They also had protective walls surrounding them so they were protected.

1) It was found on the northern coast of Africa supposedly by Dido in 814 BC. 2) Archaeologists beleive that it was found in the 8th century so that is the evidence that Dido didn't actually find Carthage. 3) It was the enemy of the Romans, and the Romans were able to defeat Carthage in the end. The Romans then completed destroyed the city, and vowed not to let anything grow or live there again. 4) It was the first city to be built on Carthage after it was destroyed. Colonia Julia Carthago then became a very successful city, and was captured by the Egyptians in the end. 5) The most interesting fact that I read was how brutely Rome treated Carthage after they conquered it. Usually, the Romans were known for treating their conquered people well, but Carthage was completely the opposite.
6) In the beginning, it was very unlucky, because it was beleived to be "cursed" by the Romans. But later it became a very important and agriculterely rich city, so life became better.

1. Carthage is on the north african coast and was founded in 814B.C. 2. Dido may not have found Carthage because it was found in the 8th century instead. 3. Three wars between Carthage and Rome, Carthage wins in the 15 year battle after famously crossing the Alps. 4. A new colony made by Julius Caesar. When he died a Roman city was built called Colonia Julia Carthago. 5. The most intresting fact that I read Was that there was 250,000 Carthaginians was reduced to 50,000 Carthaginians. 6. Life in Carthage was good because it had a high population, food, and good defences until the Punic wars.
