Take a position: Should physical education be a required course at AMSA, or should we offer multiple electives and allow choice? Take a position and write two reasons why P.E. should be required, or not. Remember you must make a minimum of three posts to get full credit.

In my opinion, physical education should be required. On reason is because since in middle school and high school kids don't have recess like they did in elementary school, P.E. is their only chance to really run around and let all of that sitting in school pressure drain out of our system. With P.E., kids are less stressed out during school; allowing them to be able to pay attention more carefully in class. Another reason that P.E. should be required is that it let's kids to socialize. During their different classes, rightfully, they aren't allowed to talk, since they have to listen to the teacher about that day's lesson. P.E. let's kids to talk with their friends while having fun and getting a good exercise. Therefore, P.E. should be required to create a better school environment and to give kids time to enjoy school, and not just do work all of the time.

P.E. should be required. My first reason is that kids get angry and stressed and they don't have a way to release it. When kids move around, they release all of their stress and anger and they are ready for more class. Also, kids are not aloud to move around in class and they get cramped up. In P.E. they can run around and then they feel better. Finally, America has one of the highest obesity rates. Kids should get at least half an hour of excersice a day. In P.E. kids do. That is why P.E. should be required in school.

I think we should have P.E. My first reason for this statement is because of obesity. The percentage of obeseity is already 17% for our age children. If we take P.E. out of our curricullum it will go up to at lest 20% if not more. That is 1 out of every 5 kids! Another reason is without P.E. kids would be hyper. If we didn't have P.E. kids would be jumping up and down in their seat. They would be going crazy and the teachers would be mad, as a result we would fail. I strongly think we should have P.E because of those reasons.

I agree that Us has the highest obesity rate as i found that reason to.

I think P.E. shouldn't be required automatically. Firstly, some students at AMSA don't want to have P.E. because they say it is too tiring. Secondly and lastly, some students at AMSA would want a block period for another subject or another language class.

I think P.E. should be a required course at AMSA. Physical Education should be required because it gives the students a break from sitting in desks listening to the teacher while being bored, and giving them exercise. The students will get bored easily if they can't have one class period to run around and have fun. If the students are bored listening to the teacher, they won't pay attention. This leads to them not learning the materials presented for the day, which also leads to the student falling behind in academics. Another reason that Physical Education should be a required course is to give students exercise. The United States has the highest obesity rating. If students have P.E., they will get to exercise, helping them not to become obese. This is why Physical Education should be arequired course at AMSA.

I think pe should be required because kids need exercise especially when they are stuck in class rooms all day. The second reason is it is a break from all the schoolwork we have to do.

I think that P.E. should be required because without it people will be wanting to run around. Everyone should be able to be active or everyone will be stressed out and overwhelmed with work. Everyone also needs time to talk to their friends.
